Happy Hour Friday // Gallow Green

As a Manhattan resident, I love any opportunity to escape the pavement and skyscrapers. Even better when the escape includes inventive cocktails, beautiful flowers, and is as easy to get to as a rooftop in Chelsea.

One of my favorite spots to imbibe in Manhattan is Gallow Green. It’s a gorgeous bar on top of the fictional McKittrick Hotel, which houses the amazing immersive show Sleep No More (If you have a chance to see it, GO!). Gallow Green is set in a dreamy space, filled overgrown plants and flowers, twinkling lights, and weathered wood tables. The center walkway is an antique railcar. The scene looks like a magical old fashioned garden party, and I absolutely love the vibe. The cocktail menu is full of fun, unique drinks with names that nod to the show going on downstairs.

The bar is very romantic and would be great for a date spot. I’ve been a few times this summer and recently stopped by for happy hour with some friends from college. I ordered the Sleep No More cocktail and was delighted by its presentation in a small little bottle with a striped paper straw (word of warning, the cocktails are strong!). We ordered some plates to share and the burrata was a crowd favorite.

Where: Rooftop of the McKittrick Hotel524 W 27th Street
