New Years Eve // Fringe Mini

It's hard to believe that 2016 is just a few days away. While shopping some after-Christmas sales I came across this fringe mini skirt at Banana Republic (on sale for $49!) and picked it up for New Years. I don't love a lot of the typical NYE sequins clothing, and like that this skirt is festive, but still stays within my fashion comfort zone. I paired the fringe with a plaid flannel shirt to dress it down, and added a sparkly necklace to balance everything out. I wasn't sure how this combo would look, but I'm really happy with it! I think it's a great NYE option for a casual night out with friends ringing in 2016.

Black & White Holiday Style

Christmas outfit planning can be a tricky thing. I always want to look fun and festive, but I also need to look appropriate for a family setting. This outfit was a no-brainer for me to get for Christmas Eve. I love scalloped anything, and the high neckline and black and white colors make it perfect for so many different settings. I paired the blouse with a coated tweed fit and flare skirt, and the shiny coating and gold side zippers set this skirt apart from other similar options.  I added a black bow belt and a red lip to make the outfit more festive for the holidays. I love that this look is perfect for Christmas Eve, and that I can wear it to so many other settings throughout the year (while all of the plaid and sequin pieces that come out this time of year are fun, I don't love that you can really only wear them in December).  Another awesome thing about this outfit... it's currently 40% off at Banana Republic!

Gift Guide // Her and Him

Anyone else still slowly ticking off their holiday shopping list? I'm not a completely last minute shopper, but I do take my time. I've heard of some people finishing their shopping on Black Friday... don't know how they do it! I also find that sales go on throughout the holiday season (sometimes they even get better!)  so I feel no rush to get it all done ASAP. For those of you still present buying, I rounded up a gift guide for 'her' and 'him.' All of the items I picked out are really universal and would be great for any girl or guy in your life... whether you're still shopping for a friend, a sibling, a parent, or a significant other!

Holiday Outfit Planning at Banana Republic

I recently went into Banana Republic on a whim and was surprised at how many things I loved. They have so many fun options out for festive holiday dressing. From the perfect outfit for Christmas dinner, to the office holiday party, to a New Year’s Eve soiree, there are so many great pieces! I immediately purchased this scalloped blouse and absolutely love it. I bought it in store and they were running a 40% off promotion-- such a steal! I saw they're having the same 40% off your purchase sale online with code BRJOY, so I rounded up some of my favorite items below.

Coziest Sweater Dress Ever

There's nothing I love more than wearing a cozy sweater dress when the temperature drops. They're a chic option for staying warm in the winter... and kind of the closest thing to wearing a snuggy in public ;)  In a recent trip to Club Monaco (seriously want everything in that store now) I came across this adorable sweater dress. It is so incredibly soft and I love that you can layer a button up underneath it for extra warmth. The wool knit patterning is also really nice and gives the dress a unique texture.

Gift Guide: Monograms

This is the first post in a series of gift guides I'll be putting out. I love reading through other bloggers guides, and hope you find some inspiration in mine! My first guide features monogram gifts. I love giving something monogrammed because it shows that you put time and thought into the gift (usually monogramming isn't done last minute) and it's also very personal.  Two of my favorite websites for monogram gifts are Mark and Graham and Marley Lilly; all of the items below are from one of those two sites. I had a lot of different recipients in mind when creating this list and my choices below include options that would be perfect for your sister (necklace) , BFF (pullover) , mom (clutch) , dad (button up) , or host (plant).
