Recipe // Frosé

Summer may be winding down, but there's still Labor Day weekend left to enjoy. End the season on a high note with a pitcher of frosé (frozen rosé). Bars and restaurants throughout NYC added this cocktail to their menus this summer, and I was so excited to try it. Let me tell you, it's GOOD! A really fun twist on a slushie and classic glass of rosé. Not too sweet, a subtle hint of strawberries and perfect for a hot afternoon. A major plus is that it's super easy to recreate at home! (And double plus, it's pretty Instagram-able too!) Below I'm sharing a frosé recipe I recently used for a family party. I hope you enjoy!

Ingredients:
-1 bottle of dry rosé
-2 cups of sliced strawberries
-1/4 cup vodka
-2 tablespoons sugar
-2 tablespoons grenadine (optional for a brighter color)

Pour the rosé into empty ice cube trays and freeze. Once rosé ice cubes are done, combine all ingredients in a blender and blend until smooth. Garnish with strawberries and mint, enjoy!

Fashion // PoshSquare Love

I hope you had a great weekend! I spent mine down the Jersey Shore trying to soak up the last of summer. I've been wearing this dress on repeat since I received it and wore it twice over the weekend,  to drinks on Friday and strolling the boardwalk on Sunday. I'm head over heels in love with it! The material is sturdy so it won't get wrinkled in your overnight bag, which is key! I also love the lace up detail which is very on trend, and, you know, stripes!

The dress is from PoshSquare a new-to-me online store that sells the cutest on-trend clothes at super affordable prices (this dress is under $50!). Affordability when it comes to trendy pieces is important to me. While I may splurge on classic items that will never go out of style, I prefer to be conservative when spending on trends that I want to try out. This dress is one of my first forays into the lace up top trend, and I'm loving it! I plan to keep wearing it as the summer winds down, and it will also work in the early fall with a denim jacket and white sneaks.

Fashion // Blue & White Romper

I'm pretty much in denial that summer's ending. I'm so not ready to start thinking about sweaters, booties and jackets. So I hope you don't mind as I grasp on to the last few weeks of August and share the details of this adorable blue and white romper. A major plus with this little outfit is that it's a classic color pattern and a summer staple that will still look great next year, AND it's on major sale! I love that the romper is off-the-shoulders and it's a comfortable fit. I paired it with my favorite tortoiseshell statement earrings and wore it walking along the beach in Fire Island before dinner. Can the summer please not end so I don't have to put this cute outfit away?!

Fashion // Navy Midi Dress Pt 2

Sharing some photos from this weekend! I finally got to wear the navy midi dress I talked about here, and it did not disappoint! I was surprised at how comfortable it was (stretchy dresses are seriously amazing for long events, like weddings or graduations). I love that you can really make this dress your own with accessories. I added some statement earrings and a bright clutch (similar) this weekend, and there are so many different ways you could go... pops of pink, neutral colors, all navy with a red lip. I'm sure this dress is going to get a lot of wear through the fall!

Fashion // Navy Midi

Something I struggle with is finding and purchasing dresses that I wear more than once. I hate wearing the same dress to formal events, so I usually buy something new (or use Rent the Runway) for each occasion, whether it's a wedding, holiday soiree or cocktail party. Needless to say, due to this habit my closet is full of dresses I never wear. I have recently started making bags to donate or sell (trying to implement the "if I can't remember the last time I wore it, it's out" rule) but I am trying to get better at this. One way to fix this little issue is to find dresses that are classic, timeless and can be worn to many different occasions year-round. Enter this navy midi dress. When I saw this dress on the Maggy London site I instantly fell in love and knew it wouldn't be one of my many one-and-done dresses. Everything about this dress is timeless... the midi-length cut and the navy color would work for everything from a formal work event, to a wedding, to a holiday party, and the bow at the neckline gives the style a fun little twist. I actually have my friend's wedding events this weekend, and I plan to wear this dress! I love how since it's such a simple, classic style you can really accessorize and jazz it up for the occasion. I can't wait to share photos!

Fashion // Eyelet Romper

I have serious heart eyes for this eyelet romper. I love eyelet anything, and the 3/4 length sleeves and longer shorts make me feel more covered up and comfortable than a lot of rompers do. But the main draw is the back...how cute are those bows!? And the best part? It's on major sale!

Fashion // Elevated LBD

This dress takes the LBD to a whole new level... cold shoulder cut outs, lace detailing, and a midi-length skirt updates and elevates the classic black dress look. I recently wore this LBD to a wedding and got so many compliments, it really is something special!

Fashion // Red Dress

There's something about a red dress that just makes you stand up a little taller and feel a little more confident. It's such a bold color, you can't be a wallflower in it. This little number is a new arrival from Maggy London and I absolutely love it! One of my favorite things about this dress is how easily it can take you from desk to drinks. Replace your work heels with some strappy sandals and swap out your office bag with a little clutch and you're happy hour ready in no time! The 3/4 length sleeves also make it a great addition to your closet that will still carry you through the fall and winter.

NYC // Best Ice Cream

Now that it's August, the city has pretty much hit its peek boiling point (literally). It's hot, humid and muggy here. Don't even think about walking a long distance outside if you don't want to be dripping in sweat. Not that I'm complaining, I love summer in NYC, but it definitely can be intense. One of my favorite ways to cool down (aside from randomly running into building lobbies for a burst of AC) is eating ice cream.

So many fun ice cream shops have opened over the past few years, making everything from rolled ice cream, giant egg waffle cones, and shaved cream ice a thing. Below I'm sharing my favorite spots to get a sweet, cold fix in the summer heat.
Eggloo is a new spot in Chinatown that features handmade ice cream served in Hong Kong egg waffles. Toppings are unlimited and you can pile as much as you want to top your ice cream waffle.

Ten Below specializes in rolled ice cream. An ice cream base is poured onto a cold surface and items are mixed in to create a flavor (I got strawberries and graham crackers!). The mixture then freezes and is rolled off the cold surface into your cup!

Big Gay Ice Cream is one of my favorite spots for fun soft serve combos. Their unique pairings are so tasty and you can't help but smile at the branding! My go-to here is the Bea Arthur, vanilla soft serve topped with dulce de leche and crushed Nilla Wafers.

If you're craving ice cream on the go, nothing beats a classic cone from the Mr. Softee ice cream truck! You can't go wrong with vanilla soft serve cherry dipped with sprinkles.

What's your favorite way to beat the summer heat?

Fashion // Navy & Red With a Twist

I find myself drawn to classic clothing with a fun twist. A button up peplum shirt, a shirtdress with a 70's flare, a pencil skirt in faux leather... I instantly hit "add to card" on this navy sundress when I stumbled upon it. Nothing is more classic than a little navy dress in the summer, and I love how the grommets, triple spaghetti straps and circle skirt update and modernize the look. And how cute is this red straw clutch?! It just screams summer and has been the perfect accessory for the past few months.
