Fashion // The Look For Less- Moto Jackets

I've been on the hunt for the perfect (also affordable) leather moto jacket. I'm really picky and want one without a lot of hardware, not cropped and in an array of colors. I've seen a lot of faux leather motos, but it pains me to pay a lot for fake leather (and calling it "vegan" doesn't make it sound more chic!).

After a lot of searching at my usual spots, I stumbled upon a slew of cute, super affordable faux leather moto jackets at Forever 21 and I just had to share this budget find with you! All these motos are under $45 and most are around $30. The store hasn't really been on my radar since the college days of buying "going out tops," but I think that may need to change. Of course I know the quality is not always the best at F21, but for a trend you're looking to try, or an item you know you'll only wear a few times, I think it's totally worth it! I'm planning to wear a black moto with a slip dress I just ordered and am excited to come up with some additional outfits for it.

I ordered a bunch in different colors to try on and will let you know if they look as cute in person as they do online! Don't you love a good deal?

Fashion // Fall Style Bell Sleeve Trend

I mentioned before that I'm loving a lot of the fashion trends for fall. Silk scarves, floral prints and purse accessories are just so fun to incorporate into your wardrobe. Another favorite fall fashion trend is bell sleeve tops. This is a trend I wasn't so sure was right for me... I tend to be drawn to more modern pieces and bell sleeves totally remind me of the 70s. Then I spotted this top and knew it would be a nice, easy way to try out the trend, and I love how this outfit turned out!

I paired the top with skinny dark denim, my favorite scalloped wedges and of course threw on a silk scarf. What do you think of the bell sleeve trend?

Fashion // Fall Silk Scarves

I am absolutely loving the silk scarf trend this fall. It's such a perfect accessory to tie together a look and make an outfit pop. I'll do a post soon on my favorite ways to wear silk scarfs, but for now I'm rounded up some gorgeous scarves I have my eye on!

Fashion // Early Fall Outfit Inspiration

Happy Monday! Coming at you with some early fall fashion inspiration! September is quickly winding down and the first official day of fall is around the corner. It's kind of hard to believe when it's still in the mid 80's outside! I haven't transitioned over my closet from summer to fall/winter clothes yet, but I have been trying to incorporate fall pieces and accessories into my outfits. It's a little tricky when the thermometer says 85 and it's sunny, but the calendar says September. Trust me, I'm not complaining... I'll take an Indian summer over an early winter any year, but I am itching for plaid, scarves and booties. Here's my take on a fall outfit when it's still hot out.

I'm taking my summer stripes and pairing them with early autumn staples. A dark denim mini and cognac mules are perfect for keeping cool while also looking season-appropriate. I'm loving the purse accessory trend that's going on, and tying an orange silk scarf on my bag helped to pull this outfit together and make it perfect for a late September afternoon. The silk scarf would also be cute around a ponytail, tied on the wrist or around the neck.

Fashion // Fall Floral Finds

I talked about my love of fall florals in this post. I want to share some tips for wearing this pattern through autumn and some favorite pieces currently in stores.

- It's a good idea to stick to a darker color pattern to look season appropriate. I find myself drawn to burgundies and colorful flowers on a black background.

- Think about the silhouette. The temperature's dropping, so aim for pieces that cover you up... tops with high necks, dresses with long sleeves, and longer skirts are all pluses.

-Fabric matters. Floral patterns on thicker fabrics (think velvet or cashmere) will keep you warm and blend in with the textures of other seasonal clothing.

-Start small. If you want to give the floral look a try but aren't ready to go head-to-toe, start out with an accessory like a floral clutch or ballet flats.

Fashion // Early Fall Florals

I absolutely love breaking "fashion rules" and think that in fashion no rules should exist. What a boring world would it be if we followed some handbook for what to wear when? You'll absolutely see me wearing white after Labor Day and floral patterns into fall. That being said, I do think there's an appropriate way to do things. This dress is such a perfect early fall floral piece to me. I love the silhouette (it's perfect for a dance floor!) and the long sleeves cover you up- something that helps make it fall appropriate. It's been so hot out that I paired it with my fav scalloped wedges, but I think it will be super cute with black lace booties for a bit of a masculine touch to this uber feminine look. I'm going to share some tips on the best ways to do fall florals later this week!

Fashion // Transitional Pieces

I seriously can't believe September is here. I feel like a broken record for always saying this, but time flies way too fast! Although Labor Day has come and gone, it's still technically summer and the weather is very warm. If you're like me, you're still wearing summer clothing but feel a little inappropriate donning typical summer styles (neon, seersucker, certain dresses). I always struggle during transitional times with what to wear. Something I've been trying to do is stretch one season's clothing longer by incorporating little hints at the new season. You may feel weird wearing a bright floral dress in September, but throw on a denim vest and booties and it feels fine! Below are some wardrobe additions that can help with transitional dressing and stretch your summer clothes longer.
